  • Qualifications

    After gaining 9 O Levels & 3 A Levels I completed a one year business and secretarial course at the City of London Polytechnic and then started my career in television. 

  • Thames Television 1979-1992

    1979 joined Thames Television as a trainee secretary.

    1980 - 1982 secretary to European Sales Executive in Thames International.

    1982 - 1983 Programme Organiser on ‘For What It’s Worth’ a local consumer programme. Responsible for crew allocation and scheduling, arranging travel, accommodation & hospitality.  Booking editing & associated facilities.  Providing total programme support on recording days.

    1983 – 1984 Trainee Production Assistant

    1984 – 1992 I worked as a production assistant on a wide range of programmes including the Telethon, Midweek Sport Special, Thames News, the Football and Rugby World Cups, the World Figure Skating Championships, the City programme, Afternoon Plus & various Election Specials. I left Thames TV when they lost their franchise. 

  • LNN 1992-1994

    Initially working as a Production Assistant on local news, then working as a news director – directing and vision mixing various news bulletins & weekend sports programmes including London Tonight.
